Light & Liminal LLC ("Light & Liminal," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. By using our services, you consent to the practices described herein, including the Mandatory Arbitration and Class Action Waiver (Section 13).

  • Payment Information (Processed securely via Stripe/PayPal).

2.2 Sensitive Personal Information (SPI)

  • Session Data: Intake forms, session notes, and spiritual goals.

  • Acknowledgement: You acknowledge this information is provided voluntarily for spiritual guidance and is not a "Medical Record" under HIPAA (See Section 4.3).

2.3 Administrative AI Processing

We may collect and process your data using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for administrative purposes only. This includes automated transcription of sessions, administrative summarization of intake forms, and scheduling efficiency.

3. Use of Technology & AI Disclosure

3.1 Administrative Use Only

AI tools are used strictly to enhance business operations (e.g., summarizing notes or managing calendars).

3.2 Prohibition on Automated Matching & Guidance

We do not use AI or algorithmic profiling to "match" clients with services, nor do we use AI to generate spiritual guidance or wellness advice. All spiritual services are performed by human practitioners.

3.3 No Training on Client Data

We do not sell, license, or provide your Sensitive Personal Information to third parties for the purpose of training "Foundation Models" or Large Language Models (LLMs).

4. Confidentiality & Legal Protections

4.1 Mandatory Disclosures (Duty to Warn)

Confidentiality is maintained except where required by law or in cases of imminent harm. Under North Carolina law, we are required to report suspected abuse or neglect of a minor or disabled adult.

4.2 Human-in-the-Loop Guarantee

All client records and session summaries—including those processed by administrative AI—are reviewed by a human practitioner to ensure accuracy and privacy.

4.3 Non-Medical / Non-HIPAA Disclaimer

We are not licensed medical or mental health providers. Our services are not subject to HIPAA. By using our services, you waive claims based on HIPAA statutory requirements.

5. Third-Party Platforms & Liability

5.1 Third-Party Service Providers

We use platforms like Zoom, Google Workspace, and Mailchimp. Your data is subject to their respective privacy policies.

5.2 Limitation of Liability for Tech Failures

Light & Liminal LLC is not liable for data breaches, "AI hallucinations," or security failures occurring on third-party platforms. Our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by North Carolina law.

6. Data Storage & Retention

  • Active Clients: Records are kept for 24 months following the last paid session.

  • Inactive Clients: Records are retained for 7 years (legal/tax purposes) and then securely deleted.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data. You may also request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format (Data Portability).

8. Children's Privacy

Services are intended for individuals 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors without explicit parental consent for youth-oriented wellness.

9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

9.1 Governing Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.

9.2 Mandatory Arbitration

Any dispute arising from this Policy or our data practices shall be settled by binding arbitration in North Carolina. You waive your right to a trial by jury.

9.3 Class Action Waiver

Proceedings to resolve disputes will be conducted solely on an individual basis and not in a class or representative action.
